Mr. Chan worked as a student planner in the Urban Planning Bureau in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone (SEZ) between 1986 and 1987. He has been engaged in many major planning studies involving multi-disciplinary inputs. He is experienced in master layout planning, feasibility study, socio-economic analysis, and formulation of design criteria, development parameters and planning standards and guidelines for various types of development. He also specializes in land-use planning, strategic and regional planning, and environmental appraisal studies for both public and private sector clients. With his dynamic practical experience working in Hong Kong and Mainland for the past fourteen years, Mr. Chan is confident in handling and managing all kinds of land-use planning and socioeconomic analysis projects.

Dr. Pun has worked in planning for more than 40 year. In 1992, he became the Director of Planning, HKSAR Government, until his retirement from the civil service in early 1999. He led a planning team of about 800 staff to manage planning and development in Hong Kong and participated in coordinating cross-boundary major infrastructure development. Dr. Pun is also an advisor to the planning bureaux/committees of several cities in the Mainland.

He was a Council Member of the Hong Kong Branch of the Royal Town Planning Institute from 1971 to 1979, and became its Chairman in 1977/78. He was a founder of the Hong Kong Institute of Planners (HKIP), of which he was President for several terms. Dr. Pun was the President of the Commonwealth Association of Planners from 1984 to 1988. He had been on the council of the Eastern Regional Organisation for Planning and Housing (EAROPH) for many years.

Dr. Pun was a part-time/honorary lecturer from 1981 to 1991 and is still an honorary research fellow of the Centre of Urban Planning and Environmental Management, University of Hong Kong (HKU). He also gave lectures at the Department of Architecture of the same university. In 1999, he was Adjunct/Honorary Professor at the Hong Kong University and Chinese University of Hong Kong. In addition to the theses he wrote for his university degrees, Dr. Pun was the co-author of four geography textbooks. He has written more than 60 papers on geography and urban planning, in both Chinese and English. In his private capacity or as representative of the HKIP, he gave lectures in the Mainland and sat on the HKSAR Basic Law Consultative Committee. He is a vice chairman of the Hong Kong Policy Research Institute, a member of the Supervisory Board and Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Housing Society and a Director of Hong Kong Experts Consultancy Ltd.
